It gives me great appreciation and humility to be entrusted to the position of President of TANGLAW Filipino American Society of Long Island, an organization that has continued to enrich our cultural heritage, promote our social awareness and reach out to our fellow Filipinos.
As we celebrate our 31st Anniversary and start a new year, we are reminded of the various accomplishments that we have achieved, most notably, the quick response made through volunteer work in helping the victims of the most recent calamities in the Philippines. I am very proud of our organization and of the faith and diligence of our members who never forget the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan.
In closing, we have had great leadership over the past 2 years from our previous President, Tony Enriquez, each of us owe you a great deal of thanks. I would also like to express gratitude to the officers and board of directors who selflessly served our organization.
Through the continued commitment and support of all of our members, I am confident that we will be able to uphold our principles, pursue our goals and help more Filipinos. I look forward to being of service to Tanglaw.
Sincerely,
Robert A. Zarate
President
