TANGLAW was founded in 1978 by a small group of Filipino's in Holbrook, New York - Quin Makayan, Ricky Padagas, Nick Obmaces and Tonih Apostol. Their goal at that time was to promote ties among Filipino families in Holbrook. In October 1983, the first election of officers was held and with it came forth a new breed of dedicated officers with new goals and ideas, culminating in the restructuring of the association and the amendment of its Constitution and By-Laws.
Tanglaw has since grown into a distinguished and renowned cultural, civic, social and charitable organization. TANGLAW has helped many of our fellow countrymen in need in the Philippines through its Kababayan Sharing Program.
